Accountant responsibilities include recording and reviewing accounting transactions and procedures, reconciling account statements, and assisting in the buildout of finance functions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and month-end closing processes and are a detail-oriented team player looking for ways to continuously improve our accounting functions. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial positions and play a key role in the accounting teams' ability to scale in a high growth environment. This position will report to Senior Director, Finance & Accounting, and interact with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the success and growth of the company.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Support the month end close process including closing entries, account reconciliations and analysis
- Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain detailed and accurate supporting workpapers
- Manage accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting and financial information by entering/recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions and documents
- Oversee operations for expense reimbursements and business purchasing programs
- Assist with tax filings and payments necessary for compliance
- Act as an accounting business partner for various cross-functional departments across the organization
- Provide support with audit requests and deliverables
- Assist in building out operating procedures and controls to support the company’s growth
- Assist in budget and forecast creation
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency via process improvements, automation, etc.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
- Perform other special projects
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like NetSuite (preferred), FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
