We are looking for a skilled Practice Billing Analyst with experience in rheumatology or infusion practices work with our partners to take care of the company's billing operations. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in navigating the complexities of various payer coverages—including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, and specialty payers—to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing practice dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care for patients with rheumatologic conditions.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Review and accurately code office visits, infusions, and other rheumatology-specific services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and payer policies, including Medicaid-specific requirements.
- Prepare, submit, and track claims to multiple payers (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Monitor the status of claims, identify denials or underpayments, and promptly initiate appeal or correction processes.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances.
- Collaborate with internal staff (providers, nurses, infusion specialists) to obtain necessary documentation for claims submission.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient billing records.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations, including the latest changes in Medicaid guidelines.
- Provide patients with clear explanations of their financial responsibilities and insurance coverage.
- Address patient billing inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Work closely with clinical teams and practice management to streamline billing workflows.
- Participate in staff training sessions to enhance overall compliance and efficiency within the billing department.
- 3+ years' experience of working on a Billing Analyst or similar accounting position
- Good practical experience with electronic billing procedures
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office٫ particularly especially Excel
- Familiarity with databases and SQL
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Responsibility٫ close attention to detail٫ ability to meet tight deadlines
- BSc or BA degree in accounting or similar area
