Analytics Engineer

Full Time

Columbus, OH / New York City, NY

AndHealth is on a mission to radically improve access and outcomes for the most challenging chronic health conditions, with the goal of making world-class specialty care accessible and affordable to all. We partner with health systems, community health centers, plans, and employers to remove barriers to care to ensure all people have access to the care they deserve.

We are looking for a Analytics Engineer to design and own the last mile of our data stack — ensuring that leaders across the company can easily and confidently get answers from data. You will be responsible for creating a self-service data experience: building governed metrics, enabling natural-language query tools, and shaping the data layer so that business users can explore, analyze, and trust their data. This role bridges data engineering, analytics, and user experience — perfect for someone who loves data and also cares deeply about how humans interact with it.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Build reusable, governed data models in dbt or similar tools.
  • Implement and configure BI / NLQ platforms (e.g., Looker, ThoughtSpot, Power BI Copilot, Tableau GPT).
  • Create intuitive data experiences: starter dashboards, guided explorations, and natural-language query interfaces.
  • Enable modern LLM-powered BI features to let users ask questions in plain English.
  • Ensure semantic consistency so AI answers are accurate and trusted.
  • Treat metrics and dashboards as products: gather requirements, prioritize improvements, document definitions, and measure adoption.
  • Partner with stakeholders across clinical operations, product, and leadership to understand key data questions.
  • Enforce data quality, access control, and metric consistency.
  • Work with data engineers to resolve pipeline issues and ensure freshness.

Skills or Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in BI engineering, analytics engineering, or a related data role.
  • Advanced SQL and experience with modern BI platforms (Looker, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Experience with semantic layers / metric frameworks (dbt, LookML, Cube, AtScale, MetricFlow).
  • Familiarity with AI-powered BI or interest in experimenting with LLMs for data exploration.
  • Strong sense for data UX: how to make complex data approachable for non-technical users.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate business questions into data solutions.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in healthcare data (EHR, scheduling, patient engagement).
  • Experience with dbt metrics layer or other governed metrics frameworks.
  • Exposure to LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) or custom NLQ projects.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, governance, and HIPAA compliance.

Here’s what we’d like to offer you:

  • Equal investment and support for our people and patients.
  • A fun and ambitious growing environment with a culture that takes on important things, takes risks, and learns quickly.
  • The ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation, and conscientiousness, and find joy in working together.
  • A team of highly skilled, incredibly kind, and welcoming employees, every one of whom has something unique to offer.
  • We know that the overall success of our business is a collaborative effort, and we strive to provide ongoing opportunities for our employees to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
  • Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our benefits package which includes Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401k match, Paid time off, Short- and Long-Term Disability, 401k match and more.
